 The pantheon of the Pelaskan people is a mixed one, like so many  Gloranthan 
cultures, combing predominantly Animistic and Theistic concepts,  however 
some sorcery is known, especially amongst the boat builders and some  Dormal 
worshippers. 
When the Dark Storm reached its worst, and the sea turned against the  
faithful, The Pelican threw himself on the Last Embers before the  gathered spirits, 
gods and men who were all starving and clinging to the blasted  remains of 
the world.  His flesh gave them sustenance and hope.  When the Sky River flowed 
across the heavens and the mighty Sun Fish swam along  it, the Pelican 
returned with a great mouthful of fish of every kind which were  enough to feed the 
starving Pelaskans.
